Breeder update

Hi all,

As you can see, we've launched our new website. Check it out for access to our sale catalogues, sale results, stud updates and all things stud related.

On the farm, we've had a good spring, which set us up for summer (unfortunately the forecasters were right). The stock have done well on the snap dried feed. We're really pleased with the weight the heifers have put on and the record lambing we've had (we won't mention prices!).

El Niño really starting to bite now. And like most of the South Island's east coast we are hanging out for Autumn rains to kick in.  In the mean time I'll be feeding out with my fingers crossed.

Some new sire lines will be at the bull sale in June. KG Justified is a fleshy sire with calving ease and power. Sav Rainfall is being hailed as a cow maker, who comes out of the Sav Black May Dam. His progeny brings structure, capacity and growth. Our sale will be on a Friday this year, rather than the usual Thursday. If you are wanting a catalogue, please click here to update your details on our website to make sure it gets to you.

As you are reading this I will be motorbiking my way through Vietnam with 30 other kiwi blokes. I am sure I will have some good stories to tell when I next see you!

Cheers,

George

We are thrilled with how our cows are holding their condition in the dry! Not only that but producing some impressive calves too!

Like Texas Angus says "SURVIVE and THRIVE is an understatement, emphasising the importance of PERFORMANCE and FERTILITY!"

Looking forward to seeing what they can do when the rain hits!

Proud to be supplying Hurunui Farms!

Head down to the Riverside Market - Christchurch to get access to local farming produce! It’s such a cool feeling seeing your product on the shelf like this!

We will be making a wee cameo on Country Calendar soon, in the Hurunui Farms story.

We're proud and grateful to be apart of the Hurunui Farms family and bridging the gap of traceability.

Our eldest, Eva and her friends/cousin, Zoe and Bells at our bull sale.
